It's been a month since my procedure at Apgujeong PS. 

I traveled to Seoul specifically for a rhinoplasty, facial fat graft, and double chin liposuction. I will write separate reviews on the other procedures when I have a more definite perspective on my results. 

Before purchasing tickets to fly to Seoul, I consulted a few clinics via Whatsapp and decided to go ahead with Apgujeong due to their natural results. 

My nose bridge was high enough, but my nose tip was bulbous so I just wanted cartilage inserted to make it more defined from the side profile. I didn't want my front profile to change at all and wanted the change to be subtle. 

When I went in person for consultation, they (English translator and one other medical staff that wasn't the surgeon) provided me with a lot of information surrounding the procedure such as pre and post surgery instructions, the types of changes I wanted, and different options for each. I went in for a morning consultation and they were able to squeeze me in for the surgery that night at 7pm! I believe they had to work overtime to fit me in the schedule due to the timing for stitch removal and post op check in. I appreciated it so much! 

I also met with the surgeon at the end of the consultation and right before surgery, Dr. Choi JungHyeok, who is well-known for natural rhinoplasties. He was extremely humble and had amazing bedside manner, but he seemed so busy and rushed that I felt bad to ask him more questions. 

I have heard about bait-and-switch horror stories where some clinics might promise you a specific surgeon but have another surgeon perform the procedure, but I felt assured because on the Gangnum Unni app, this clinic has CCTV in the operating rooms. Also right before I knocked out from anesthesia, I saw Dr. Choi gowned up and ready to start in the operating room. 

After waking up, I was in the post-op care room. I was feeling extremely cold and parched and the nurses were so sweet to provide me with ample blankets and warm water. After resting for about 45 minutes, my partner came to pick me up.

My nose was in a splint with big cotton pads stuffed up my nose. Those cotton pads were so deep in my nose it was extremely hard to breathe, even with my mouth open. In my opinion, it was the worst part of recovery. My nose kept bleeding as well and I had to change my bandages a couple times throughout the night and next day. 

I was so relieved when they took out the cotton pads from my nose the next day. Still, breathing through my nose was still a little tricky over the next week. 

On day 9 post op, I finally got to have my stitches and splint taken off. My nose was so cute! The doctor listened 100% to what I wanted and delivered. I was so relieved it didn't look too different. The tip was a bit upturned from the side profile (which is expected) but dropped as time went by. 

Now, about 4 weeks post op, the tip is still a little sensitive to touch, but overall healing very well. Since I didn't have silicone inserted into my bridge, I believe my nose didn't swell up much at all throughout the month. My dissolvable stitches inside my nostril is still present and very ticklish inside my nose. Hoping they will resolve on their own soon. 

Can't wait to see how the rest of the healing process will go!
