Today is the second day post-surgery at CDU Plastic Surgery.
I had the bridge of my nose smoothed, narrowed and “de-bulking of bulbous tip.”
This was my first plastic surgery ever, and to say I was nervous/anxious would be a huge understatement.
Emily, my consultant/translator/guide/guardian angel, has been with me every step of the way. She is so sweet, honest, helpful and super responsive whenever I text her with questions (which there have been many).
I came in wanting my nose done but then also got excited about the other procedures that are possible with CDU. She was so patient and thoroughly went over every single detail there was to go over.
How’s it going post-op? Better than I could have imagined!
The day after I just took it easy and rested. My body and skin especially usually reacts pretty dramatically to every little thing (bug bites, acne, allergies, you name it), so I had/have a lot of swelling and bruising. BUT! It looks a lot worse than it feels.
I have NO PAIN whatsoever.
The first evening was a little rough, I had a hard time sleeping. But by the second day, my energy is normal and I felt totally fine to walk around the city, shopping, etc. today. Even though I probably look like a crazy person.
Thankfully the locals are used to seeing people in post-op bandages so I haven’t felt embarrassed or ashamed at all. I’ve also been masking every where I go because I do NOT want to risk getting sick right now with my nose the way it is.
I went in for my first check up today and Emily, the nurses and the doctor all seemed pretty surprised by how swollen and bruised my face is. They had me lay under an LED light for a while to help. Suggested I keep icing today and switch to warm compresses tomorrow.
I go back in for another check up in 4 days.
I haven’t really seen my nose without any of the bandages on, and it’s incredibly swollen so difficult to really see any results, yet. However, the tip of my nose is already very clearly smaller.
I can’t wait to see what it looks like in a few days.
I’ll report back with photos and an update then. :)
