Bruising showed up on Day 2 and is still visible, going away slightly day by day. Honestly, it looks a little scary, so I’ve been hiding it under sleeves. But from Day 1 to Day 4, the pain was basically the same as Day 0, super manageable. It felt more like muscle aches, kind of like after a gym workout.
Then… OMG!!! From Day 5 onwards, things changed. The pain level went up, my movement got more restricted, and the area felt tighter and more painful when I moved. Sometimes it’s just muscle tightness (like post workout soreness), but other times it’s a sudden sharp pain if someone accidentally touches my arm. It almost feels like something is tearing, probably nerves recovering. The pain now is comparable to my abdomen, but since the arm is a smaller area, it’s still not as bad.
Daily tasks like sitting, holding things, and working are fine, but I do have to be careful to avoid accidental knocks. One funny challenge is figuring out how to rest my arm while using my laptop. My elbow usually sits on the armrest, but certain positions hurt. Once you find the right spot though, you’re good to go for the whole workday.
My armpit has also started to hurt, so overhead reaching or even showering and washing my hair/back is more difficult now.
The portion just above my elbow is swelling too and I am waiting for the swell to go away. I tried doing some random massage to hopefully drain the fluid but I’m not sure if it is working. It’s painful to do those massages though.
Abdomen vs. Arm
* Abdomen recovery was definitely tougher. I struggled with sitting and even getting out of bed.
* I know the swelling will go down and the real results will show soon. Can’t wait!
Here are my personal ratings for discomfort and pain. Discomfort is the portion where I felt it restricted my movements.
* Abdomen discomfort and pain: 8/10 (lots of fat removed, so it makes sense it was more intense).
* Arm discomfort and pain:
* 3/10 (minor aches from Day 0–4)
* 5.5/10 (pain increased from Day 5 onwards, but still milder compared to abdomen).
Not sure if I mentioned in my previous post but 2.5litres (abdomen) and 1litre (both arm and armpit) were removed. Procedures were done separately. I did lose 500grams to 1kg of weight but it fluctuates. The main aim is to look slimmer so I’m not affected by the weight too!
I actually flew back on Day 3 after my arm procedure, and it okay for me. But if you’re doing the abdomen, I recommend giving yourself more recovery time before flying as it is a lot harder to move around.
