Update: One year after my G-fat lipo
All of the scars (hyperpigmentation) from my puncture holes were pretty much gone after about 6 months.
However, the dark scars on my arms had just faded; they were from the tape. I was extremely careful when removing the tape, but because the upper arm skin is quite thin, no matter how careful I was, the skin was already being pulled off and stuck to the tape. I have no tape scar issues in other areas. If I have another procedure at G clinic, I will ask the nurses beforehand not to press the tape on too hard in more delicate areas. If you have thin skin, I'd recommend you ask the doctor ahead of time.
Other than the tape scars, the lipo at G-clinic was still the absolute best thing I have done for my body, surgery-wise. My waist is curved in all the right places, and my arms look thin and delicate. I have loved my body so much more, and that gave me tons of courage to lose the rest of the weight. What I called the doctor—a miracle worker—still very much holds true.

My general experience | Pain level | Results | A few things that I think would be helpful for first-time patients like me.
●General experience: I had mine done in four different areas (11 holes): face, armpits, arms, and abdomen.
My husband researched all kinds of lipo methods and clinics before convincing me to go with G clinic. I'm glad I listened.
First is the anesthesia; you will be injected with local anesthesia and won't be put to sleep, so you don't have to worry about feeling out of it for a couple of days afterward. You also won't need to stop eating or drinking before the procedure. Then, unlike the more traditional method, there will be no cutting or suturing involved; the puncture points are as small as one could hope for.
It's been two weeks and my scars are flat and basically gone.
We scheduled a consultation; the doctor was patient, informative, and transparent. He answered all of the questions we had. I didn't feel like I was being rushed or pressured, unlike a few other clinics I had been to (for different procedures).
On the day of the procedure, this was the process: I showed up, paid, filled out some paperwork, had pre-op pictures taken, changed, and met the doctor for the scan and design. Then, I moved to another room, lay down, and had my body bathed in iodine. After that, the lipo was performed, and the whole body was drained of leftover liquid. I was then taped up everywhere, changed, got my medicine, and headed back.
●Pain level: I have a normal pain tolerance, and it didn’t hurt badly at all. The worst part was probably the medical tape applied right after the surgery. It took a good 2-3 hours to carefully remove everything the day after, and the top layer of some parts of my arm skin still got yanked off. That hurt more than anything related to the actual lipo itself.
It hurt a bit when the doctor injected lidocaine into me, and then it hurt a bit less when the tumescent liquid was injected into my body. From then on, everything was numb. The thought of it is scarier than the process itself. I was shaking pretty badly after he did my belly, but Dr. Hong assured me that that is a normal reaction, which calmed my anxiety. We chatted about lots of random things during the procedure, and it helped take my mind off what was going on. Also, he was so incredibly kind; he kept asking if I was okay since I had many areas done at once, and it took a bit longer. The day after, it hurt to sit up, and I needed my husband to help me get up from the bed, but it got better and better by the day. By the second day, I started to go out and had a short walk around.
●Result: Both my husband and I are so thoroughly impressed with the doctor's skill. There was minimal bruising, and the scars are so small, they're basically gone by now. My face looks slimmer, my armpit fat bumps are flat, my arms are skinnier, and my bellies have never been flatter. Everything I had hoped for, I got. I'm quite ecstatic with the results, especially my waist, and I'm not even fully healed or lost the rest of the weight that I need to lose. Dr. Hong was truly a miracle worker. I hope he knows how much happiness he brought to this one patient.
●Tips and tricks for people like me who want to get a few areas done at once:
Before you leave for the procedure, make sure you have enough food and water in the fridge. Also, stock up on probiotic drinks and yogurts; you're going to need them. The antibiotics can mess up your digestive system and cause pretty bad diarrhea. I had diarrhea because I didn't listen to my husband😑. Then he forced me to chug probiotic drinks and yogurts, and my belly was much happier after that.
Make sure you buy your compression garments ahead of time and put them on the day after; they helped me so much.
I highly recommend buying bed pee pads and lining them up before you leave for the lipo (see pictures). You might have leakage when you sleep on the first night. Mine leaked, but the pads caught everything 😌🤌
The clinic downstairs has pumpkin juice, buy a few bags, and drink them if you can. They cost around 1500 won/bag
On the day of your procedure, bring a few extra pieces of clothing, especially something large and baggy. Oversized skirts, pants, and shirts (sleeveless and/or button-down are best if you have work done on your arms) are ideal because those are the only things you will be able to fit into after the nurse applies all of the pads, bandages, and tapes. My abdomen holes leaked everywhere and there was blood+liquid ran down my legs, the extra clothes helped cover them, preventing them from being visible and dirtying the taxi driver's seat. Everything was clean and tidy.
I hope I didn't forget anything. Overall, I highly highly recommend Dr. Hong and G clinic. I'll be back if I want anything else done again.
