consulted for thigh liposuction and rhinoplasty
I went into Marble Plastic Surgery earlier this month for a consultation. Though I decided not to go with them, I thought it would be helpful to share my experience.
The clinic atmosphere is very professional. Everything was very efficient. There was minimal time spent waiting, so I was in and out in under an hour. Before meeting with the surgeon, I went in to have the areas I was consulting for photographed. Afterwards, the surgeon sat down with me and we looked at the photos and discussed both surgeries: both the legs and the nose. He was quite thorough and open to answering questions. He didn't speak much English and my Korean isn't great, but there was an English translator there the whole time and from what I could tell, she was very good with precise, quick translations.
I appreciated that the doctor let me know what sorts of things would not be suitable for my case (liposuction in areas with damaged skin) and made suggestions for acheiving the look I wanted with my nose. He also suggested injecting fat in my undereye area, but didn't press the issue. There was no pressure to do more procedures, which was something I was worried about ahead of time. Overall, I felt pretty confident in the surgical plan we drew up together.
There were a couple reasons I decided not to go with them. Firstly, the whole experience felt rather impersonal. The staff were professional and curteous, but everything felt a little bit cold. There was not much small talk and I got the feeling that I was just another name on a piece of paper and a number to add to the total. If that's your sort of vibe, then I think this clinic would be a great fit. For me it was a little intimidating.
This is a small thing, but I know that many plastic surgeons have certain specialty areas they are known for like rhinoplasty or breast augmentation. At Marble, I was told the same doctor would do my rhinoplasty and my thigh liposuction, which isn't necessarily wrong, but without much background information on his previous work in those areas, I was a little worried about that. I'm sure he's experienced, but if I returned, I'd probably ask more about his experience with each and maybe to see photos of his work in both procedures just for peace of mind.
Their price was also on the higher end of what I've seen. They do offer discounts for multiple surgeries, I believe, and there's also a discount if you pay in cash.
