Wedding photo shoot pt.2
Hi y’all! How are you all doing today?
I’m doing well 🤗. It started raining A LOT today, perhaps the start of Korea’s rain season? I hope it won’t last as long as last year 🙈.
I wrote about going for my wedding photo shoot a few days ago and I thought I would give an update on how it went, since I don’t have any pictures from it yet (I think we will receive them after 2-3 weeks).
Before I get into that, let me tell you, I have ALWAYS dreamed about our wedding photo shoot, even more than the wedding, since Korean weddings typically last around 2-3 hours. I had also seen how beautifully my Korean friends’ pictures turned out. They all looked like princesses and I was looking forward to having my own “princess” moment as I’m usually shy and don’t take many pictures.
But it was a HORRIBLE experience 😓😭. It started off well. The lady who did my hair and make up did a great job and I was very happy with it. Then came the time to pick out some dresses for the photo shoot. I was given three photo books and was told I could pick 6 dresses to try on. From those 6, I’d be able to choose 3 for the actual shoot.
I looked through the books, each had about 20 styles but there were around 5 that I liked and I told them. They came back and told me that NONE of the dresses went up to my size (after we called ahead to check on the sizes and were told that all the dress styles come in all the sizes). Basically from Korean small to Korean large.
That was disappointing but I accepted it as my body is curvier than the Korean body type. Then they brought some dresses that they DID have in my size. They weren’t at all my style since this style makes me look like I’m wearing a big, white merengue instead of a wedding dress 😔🙈. I still decided to give it a try but the worst moment was the way the assistant spoke about me, thinking I couldn’t understand her. Making comments about my breasts and butt being too big all while trying to shove them into dresses that weren’t made for women with curves in these areas.
After trying on 4 dresses and feeling worse after every one, I told them I’m done trying dresses on and went to the lounge area and starting balling. I felt horrible about my body and I couldn’t imagine standing in front of a camera in the dresses that made me look like a big, white cloud and pretend to be happy and excited.
I told my husband I just wanted to leave. I no longer cared about taking any pictures as I already felt so uncomfortable. He was very sweet and supportive and immediately agreed but after a few minutes, taking some deep breaths and calming down, I decided to do it anyway. We already paid so much for it and it was non-refundable so I couldn’t just let it all go to waste. I chose the two dresses that looked the least horrible on me 😩😅🤣 and decided to get whatever money’s worth I could. 5 hours later, it was done.
I am not sure that I will share any pictures on here..I actually have no desire to see them myself, ever. My husband looked handsome though 😍 I love all his pictures.
Anyway…if you’ve read until this point, I hope you have/ had a great day. Have a wonderful week and let mean people kiss your 🍑.
