I got lip fillers today and would like to share some things I haven’t experienced before.
I regularly get lip fillers every 4-6 months. However, this time I had it done after 3 months since my previous appointment because I liked the slightly puffy effect from my last treatment when my lips were still swollen. Today, I received Rejuviel Filler (1 cc). Unfortunately, I didn't ask about the brand of filler the doctor used previously, but since it was the same clinic, I assume it was the same one (though I'm not entirely sure as the prices were different). Today, I experienced some side effects that I've never encountered before. Firstly, my lips were much more swollen than usual and quite painful, which worried me. As a result, I contacted the clinic, and they recommended to monitor the situation. If there's no improvement, they advised me to come in for a check-up. Additionally, I decided to consult another doctor and some friends who also get lip fillers.
Here are some things I discovered and some recommendations:
1. If you get lip fillers at different clinics or even at the same one, I recommend always asking about the brand of filler used. Mixing different fillers can cause side effects or even result in filler accumulation in certain areas and lumps.
2. Due to hot weather, your lips can become more swollen, so using something cold might help reduce the swelling.
3. The doctor recommended that I take some pain medication (I used Nimesulide, which is relatively safe, but I personally advise consulting a doctor before taking any medication without a prescription). This time I didn’t receive pills from the clinic, some of them prescribe you medication after treatment.
4. It could be a reaction to the anesthesia used at the clinic.
5. My friend recommended not using a straw while drinking. I'm not sure about the connection, but she heard it from her doctor. 🤷🏼♀️
Overall, I’m satisfied with the results. My lips are less swollen now, and I only feel a bit of discomfort. Being somewhat paranoid, I decided to share this information with you. I hope it will be useful to you. It's not my first time at this clinic, and I really appreciate how they shape the lips while considering your overall appearance. During my filler appointments, the doctor recommended stopping at a certain point to avoid making my profile look unnatural. Remember that it might look good from the front but not from the side.
