I don’t choose treatments the same way anymore
A few months ago, I thought the sensible thing was to get as many opinions as possible.
So I did.
One clinic recommended one treatment. Another suggested two. A third had an entirely different idea.
Very helpful.
Eventually I realised I was asking the wrong question.
I kept asking:
“Which clinic is right?”
Now I’d ask
“Why are you recommending this for me?”
What exactly are you trying to improve? What probably won’t change? And would you still recommend it if I hadn’t mentioned a treatment name first?
Turns out collecting more recommendations wasn’t making the decision easier.
It was just giving me a larger collection of recommendations.
I still compare clinics.
I just ask better questions now.
