What things I wished I packed for surgery in Korea
Hello, doing this little post since I would have liked to know this before going to Korea for the first time!
Going to Korea to get surgery was the first time I have gone on a plane in my life and the experience was not great 😅. 16 hours flight is an extremely long time when you don’t know how to prepare. Here is what I would have liked to bring with me the to Korea the first time I went for the flight and the surgery!
On the plane:
1. A good neck pillow!
Trust me! I was judging people who used neck pillows before, but you absolutely need one ! If your flight is long, your neck is going to kill you. You need a neck support in order to be able to be comfortable. I was trying to be comfortable by retracting my chair, but it moves backward like … 15 cm maybe…
2. Warm clothes/socks
It is freezing up in the air, make sure to bring warm clothes and most importantly, warms socks. My feet were freezing in the plane for the whole duration of the flight!
For the surgery/in Korea:
1. Sunglasses, a hat and face mask
I was really shy and afraid of going out with bandages after my surgery. I was happy to have packed a cap and a mask to cover any traces of surgery!
2. Sterile cottonbuds
Trust me, you want some to wipe the area gently, it will be … oozing with stuff along the surgery area.
The hospital will usually give you some, but it is not nearly enough and I was scared of infection to buy some at daiso.
3. Loose and tight clothing
When I got my lipo on my legs, I was not given any compression garments, so I was happy to have brought leggings! They have saved my life.
Same thing with loose clothing really important when you just got out of surgery! After the anesthesia, you don’t want to struggle putting skinny jeans.
