Beauty treatments in Korea: support from a foreigner who’s lived here for 6 years
Hi everyone! I’m Mai 👋 I’m from Vietnam, and I’ve called Korea home for the past six years.
I graduated with a degree in Beauty Design Management from Hansung University and previously worked as a makeup artist at CHICOR Myeongdong. There, I had the chance to meet and care for clients from many different countries.
Through our conversations, I noticed a recurring concern: many people weren’t sure whether they were paying a fair price or why certain treatments had been recommended. Some shared surprisingly high quotes, while others had booked packages without fully understanding what was included.
As a foreigner myself, I understand how confusing it can feel to navigate Korean clinics—especially with a language barrier.
My studies included skin and skincare, and I’ve personally tried treatments at different clinics here. Today, I work with clinics to support international patients seeking skin treatments and cosmetic surgery.
Here’s what matters to me:
🩺 Doctor-led medical advice
I help you communicate your concerns and understand the consultation. Diagnosis and treatment recommendations come directly from the doctor, not from me.
👨⚕️ Knowing who will treat you
I prioritize independent, doctor-owned clinics led by doctors with at least 10 years of experience, including experience at larger hospitals. I help confirm who will perform your consultation and procedure before you book.
💰 Transparent pricing—the same rates as Korean patients
I only work with clinics that offer clear pricing and charge international patients the same rates as Korean patients for the same treatments. I help clarify what’s included and any additional costs beforehand.
🤍 A decision you feel comfortable making
I value clinics with an established local Korean clientele and doctors who explain their recommendations. You should feel comfortable asking questions, discussing your budget, and taking time to decide.
My goal is to help you feel informed and supported, from your first questions to follow-up care.
If you’re considering a skin treatment or cosmetic surgery in Korea, feel free to message me with your concerns and questions. I can help you understand the process and arrange a consultation with a doctor who can assess your needs. 🌷
