REVIEW: Rhinoplasty, Zygoma reduction and V-line surgery experience (ONE month post op)
I had these surgeries with Dr Hu Jung Woo 22nd January 2024.
My before and after photos says a lot (ignore the indentations from the facial garment on my cheeks) but I'll share my experience with the clinic and recovery.
1st Night post op - Overnight stay at the clinic. Dr Woo came to inform me how the operation went. All good! My night nurse constantly checked in and frequently replaced my ice pack. In the morning she cleaned dried blood around my nose stitches.
Week 1 post op
- Day 1, Rainbow (lovely translator) came to check in on me next day before I left the hospital and I collected my medication
- Day 2 Dr Woo came to check on my incisions. He informed me everything is all good. A nurse I saw regularly cleaned up my incisions
- Day 4, my incisions were checked again. I appreciate it was the same 2 nurses taking care of me the whole time.
- Day 7, Stitches removed and spoke with Dr Woo last time before I flew back to the UK. He advised all is well.
- Daily visits to Ruby Plastic Surgery for de-swelling laser 10-20 minutes
Week 2
- Major swelling down
- Facial expressions very hard to do
- Jaw can not open wide
- Nose leaking frequently, more mucus than blood
- Nose swelling left side more than right
- Dark circles around eyes coming through
- Skin flaking/peeling on nose (I guess it's to do with the recovery as it's just happening on the nose? 💁🏿♀️)
- Washing face gave a super weird sensation, even a light touch
Week 3
- Swelling easily comes back up if not wearing facial garment but I'm back to work so not possible to wear all the time
- Nose leaking still frequent
- Nose swelling seemed to move to right side.
- Skin on face still feels weird to touch
Week 4
I look more "normal" but I still feel I have a long way to go internally Ie. Swelling, making big facial expressions and chewing normally.
My experience with Ruby Plastic Surgery staff
A huge thank you to Dr Woo. I felt I could trust him completely with these procedures, from when I met him in the consultation. He had demeanor of confidence of how he could help me. I saw him more than I expected post operation and he was available for questions.
Rainbow, my translator whom I communicated with her from Day 1. She's such a warm, friendly, helpful person and honestly made the surgery experience overall.
The consultant, very pretty, patient, professional and informative during my consultation.
My night nurse, Unyong (I think) and senior nurse for the consistent care. I felt safe under their care.
I'll update in a few months!
