Hello, here is my first week of recovery!

Also, I forgot to mention it, but here is what I asked for:

Eyes: I asked to lower the outer corners to make my eyes more parallel, since they are pretty slanted naturally ( cat shape). This is totally a personal preference of course. I also wanted to enlarge the outer corners since my face is pretty wide and it can look unbalanced.

Chin/jaw: I asked for the typical v-line face and make my jaw tighter by removing the fat : )




Surgery day:
I have already explained it in my first review, but this is basically what happens: you take before pictures, you put on surgical clothes ( they give you a locker to put your belongings), you wash your face and put your hair in a ponytail. After that, you meet the doctor one last time for the design and you go into the surgery room. After that, they put you to sleep and you wake up in the recovery room.

Marie is with you all the way trough the process to help you , she’s truly amazing!

After that, you go buy your medecine and you can go home : )


Day 1 post-op:
I had difficulty sleeping as I woke up because of the pain in my neck/ jaw area. Needed to take painkillers on top of the daily medecine that you need to take 3 times a day. For the eyes, literally no pain at all. I made sure to put the ointment they give you on the incisions areas.

The swelling is better, and I can feel that the faceband seems less tight compared to right after the surgery. I can move my head a little bit side to side, but still very hard to open my mouth.

Day 2 post-op:
I woke up with a very swollen face, almost like a squirrel. A lot more swollen than the first day post-op, but it went down a lot as the day went by.

I met up at Shinsang clinic for a session of deswelling laser and they took some pictures.

I also started to use the ice pack and it seems to help a lot!!! I simply wrap it around my face and put a gauze between the ice pack and my skin. Looks funny, but it works !!!

Day 3 post-op:
Not much changes, the area under the chin feels pretty numb and I’m still using the prescribed painkillers. Woke up quite swollen, but at the end of the day, the swelling diminished a lot.

The face band feels a lot more comfortable as it’s more molded to my head shape now, but it is still a little bit uncomfortable to sleep with it.


Day 4 post-op:

Almost no swelling in the jaw area. Lots of swelling concentrated underthe chin where the stitches are. This small area still feels numb. No changes in the eyes.

Day 5 post-op:

No pain whatsoever, just feeling a little bit numb. I started to get a little bit of sensation back under my chin but it’s subtle. Forgot to take pictures 😅, but pretty much the same as day 4 post-op.

Day 6 post-op:

I went to the clinic at 10:30 in the morning. We took pictures, they gave me a deswelling shot in the hip and I did one more round of deswelling laser.

I met up with Dr.Lee and he told me that I was recovering really well and that I could remove the stitches today as opposed to back in Canada. I was so happy about the news !!!

The kind nurse then removed the stitches and she was really delicate. When I did my ptosis correction, removing the stitches was really painful, but this time it was very bearable.

They then went on and put a bandage on the wound under my chin, since they normally leave the stitches for a longer time.

I’m still pretty swollen under my chin, but I will keep you guys updated . I already see results from the cpc and neck reduction and I’m so exited to see the final results.

I love this clinic and my results so far! Everyone is super kind and helpful even if you don’t speak korean. Marie is extremely skilled and always with you all along your journey. Esther is so lovable and feels really comforting, always answering all your questions. And finally, Dr.Lee is extremely skilled! I did surgery before, but it’s the first time that I have so little bruising and swelling. He truly listens to what you want and tells you honestly if it’s recommend or not for your desired results.
