I had my double chin surgery with Level 3 neck reduction 😅on Friday (4 days ago) at Shinsang and I'd like to share my experience. Procedures I got: CPC Neck reduction stage 3 (reduction of the under chin skin, muscle, and salivary glands) Neck skin lifting Partial facelift (I think) LSSA neck/face liposuction Buccal fat reduction Brow lift Lower blepharoplasty and fat repositioning Nose tip with donor cartilage Septoplasty (found during tip surgery and fixed graciously) Next week: b*tox Laser skin acne scar treatment The estimate was for 5 hours of surgery, but with my high blood pressure, it went 11.5 hours. I felt bad for Dr. Lee and staff, but especially for Jina, the English-speaking support person that had to stay overnight until my release after the post-surgery consultation and first deswelling IV. Price: I’ll let you know when I get a copy of the breakdown + approx 52k for medicine. I wire transferred 10% of the proposed estimate (17m KRW) using Wise, 6 weeks before consultation date to hold my surgery spot. I researched the deep neck lift procedure in the USA, but it was very expensive, so I researched an equivalent in South Korea. I found Shinsang on All About Mei and their CPC procedure and watched all their YouTube videos and before/after photos on Instagram. My 50th birthday gift to myself was ready to book. Olivia at All About Mei was very helpful with communication with Shinsang and negotiating prices. She was also helpful with pre-surgery preparation and hotel locations, etc. The location is easy to get to, although they are moving to a bigger location in the fall (I guess I helped pay for that😂). I was met by the front desk staff and Jina first who then had me meet with the consultation coordinator. Once everything was mostly done with what I was looking to improve, Dr. Lee came in and performed an ultrasound, made some suggestions, switched browlift for upper blepharoplasty since he didn’t think I had ptosis and I wanted to keep the subtle eyelid fold I had. I asked about the rhinoplasty during the consultation. Dr. Lee advised against alar reduction or bridge implant as the tip would be enough to give my nose a noticeable change. I appreciate Dr. Lee’s judgment in what will be a good match for my face. Recovery has been good. Jina got me a deluxe taxi back to my hotel after the surgery. The worst part was mouth breathing for three days. You won’t have that issue if you don’t get any rhinoplasty. I had very little sleep during that time. I felt no pain until I chewed real food for the first time, instead of porridge for 2 days which was provided by Shinsang. I took only one strong painkiller to counter it. Since then I've felt more tension than pain. I got 2 elastic headbands to wear due to the amount of tissue taken out, which I had to wear 24h a day for the first 3 days. Today, the nose gauze and one headband was removed and I received a deswelling injection. After 2 more days, I have to wear the one headband for a minimum of 12h a day. I already got used to the sensation so it doesn't bother me. The stitches on my eyes look good, no redness or irritation. My upper lip is swollen the most and there is bruising wherever liposuction was done. My neck liposuction area had some fluid buildup that needed to be drained which didn’t feel good, but I just said “feel the fat leaving”😂. I haven’t seen how many stitches are behind my ears, but there’s no discomfort. I saw my much smaller face during the nose gauze removal process and I was happy with the result so far, even with the swelling. I will update my recovery after 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months.
