I had my double chin surgery last Friday (4 days ago) at Shinsang and I'd like to share some thoughts.

Procedures I got:
CPC
Neck reduction stage 1 (reduction of the under chin muscle)
Skin excision
LSSA face liposuction
Price: 5.06mln KRW incl VAT + approx 50k for medicine

I've been thinking of a double chin surgery for a while as I've always been bothered by how it looks from the profile. When I saw the CPC promotion, I immediately felt like it might be the right choice for me. I liked that the offer was more comprehensive than what I've seen in other clinics - aside from liposuction, it also included platysma muscle fixation and chin fixation. This made me believe the results would be more dramatic than with just liposuction.
Procedures other than CPC were recommended by the doctor for a better result. I was especially surprised to hear that I needed a special type of liposuction - LSSA face liposuction, due to the fact that I've had shurink done on my double chin in the past. This was approx. 1mln krw extra, which made me wish I haven't done shurink in the first place - looks like sometimes it's better to get a surgery instead of testing out less invasive solutions 😉
On top of that, Shinsang seemed to specialize in double chin surgeries and had a lot of positive reviews on All About Mei.


Pros:
+ beautiful interior design
+ helpful staff and great translators
+ the surgeon is fluent in English
+ the clinic clearly has expertise in double chin surgeries

Cons:
- Upselling - I arrived thinking I'd only get CPC for 1.5mln krw, I ended up spending over 5mln due to all the must-have recommendations of the doctor. The recommendations seemed medically justified and sensible, so I trusted the doctor that I was making the right decision by agreeing to additional costs. However, the transformation is very subtle considering the amount of money I've spent. I hope the result improves as healing progresses.
- Pricing - do not be fooled into thinking you're getting a good deal as a foreigner at Shinsang. I've been told Shinsang's CPC promotion expired on All about Mei as they increased prices - apparently the prices increase only applies to foreigners, as they offer CPC for a lower price (1.1mlnkrw) on a Korean app right now (screenshot attached). Although it's a common practice amongst Korean clinics, it's still disappointing🫤


Recovery has been pretty simple. I've felt light to moderate pain during the first day (especially while eating), but I got strong painkillers to counter it. Since then I've felt more tension than pain. I need to be careful when moving my head and I try not to lift it. I got an elastic headband, which I had to wear 24h a day for the first 3 days. Now I have to wear it as often as I can, minimum 12h a day. I already got used to the sensation so it doesn't bother me. The stitches look really good - there are 2 under the chin and 2 behind the ears. Swelling peaked on the second day, but has since gone down. Bruising is visible - my neck is basically yellow.
