Double Jaw surgery, V-Line and Genioplasty
Hello, this is Hana.
I would like to share my experience of undergoing surgery at The Face Dental in Seoul, South Korea.
At first, I had a consultation with Dr. Lee.
I had a weak chin, a protruding mouth, and facial asymmetry. Therefore, I underwent genioplasty, double jaw surgery, and V-line surgery.
One week before the surgery, the clinic performed a face X-ray, chest X-ray, blood tests, and took impressions for the surgical wafer.
On the day of the surgery, after the procedure was finished, the nurse woke me up and asked me to stay awake. I was very sleepy at that time due to the anesthesia.
Post-surgery, extra care is required. For example, I experienced coughing with a lot of saliva and blood for almost two weeks. (I recommend preparing plenty of tissues near your bed.)
Regarding food, I could only consume Newcare canned nutritional milk for almost two weeks, or slightly longer. I bought the same Newcare product as advised. (Make sure to take a picture of it so you can find it easily in offline or online stores.)
After two weeks, Dr. Lee allowed me to start eating soft foods such as omelets, soft cakes, and porridge. I also received deswelling treatments at The Face Dental.
After one month, I was able to eat almost normally, but I still avoided very hard foods that require strong chewing. (I mainly ate rice, noodles, chicken, and fish.)
This is me one month post-surgery. My face was still swollen, but much less compared to the first and second weeks after the surgery.
During the second week after surgery, when I was gargling, water came out of my nose. I became worried and contacted Olivia, who asked me to come to the hospital. The doctor explained that it would recover over time.
Dr. Lee performed minor restitching inside my mouth to ensure the water would not come out through my nose again. He informed me that swelling would increase temporarily. After that procedure, the issue did not occur again.
Now, more than two years have passed, and it has been a beautiful journey when I look back at the progress.
Regarding nerve sensation, it is still slightly less than before. As for the upper jaw, Olivia explained that it is like a tree.
it needs time to become solid as it fully fuses with the surrounding bone.
(Nevermind)
So far, I am satisfied with the results, and I would like to recommend Dr. Lee from The Face Dental.
This is my personal experience. However, everyone is different, and so are their experiences.
Thank you.
