I am following up on my earlier review with an update. I had V line surgery with Dr. Lee on September 12, 2023. The procedure went very well, and I was amazed by the attention and care I was given both in immediate recovery and for all my follow up appointments (every 2-3 days for the remainder of my stay).

I had a private recovery room, where I was taken immediately post-op and kept comfortable for the next 6 hours until I was ready to be discharged. The nurses and staff were very kind and attentive throughout that time. I returned to the clinic for a checkup the following day, and every 2-3 days after that for the remainder of my stay in Korea. In the US, it is exceptionally difficult to get significant face time with your surgeon, especially postoperatively. I was so impressed that Dr. Lee came to check in on me each time I visited the clinic and took the time to answer any questions I had. This level of service is unparalleled, even at major hospitals in the states.

As many others have mentioned, the first few days of recovery are the most difficult. I started feeling better after day 3 and was able to travel within Korea after about a week. Patients coming from the US should know that narcotics are not given after surgery in Korea (NSAIDS, however, are) which makes pain management, particularly over the first few days, a bit more challenging.

Olivia, Dr. Lee’s patient coordinator and primary point of contact, has been incredibly helpful answering any questions I had throughout the recovery procees, both during my stay and after my return. After a minor fall, I was worried about any adverse effects it may have on my surgical sites and had x rays taken back home. I sent Olivia the scans and Dr. Lee reviewed them the next day and let me know everything was okay.

Every stage of this process- from planning, to surgery, recovery to post-op care and follow ups were handled perfectly and I am extremely satisfied and eager to see the results as my swelling subsides.
