Hello Everyone~ I wanted to make a post about my 1 week recovery experience with this surgery. I had my surgery on 1/12/2024 and DM Plastic Surgery. I live in Korea so i went about my normal life during my recovery week. First picture: left side= before surgery right side=after stitches were taken out *Pictures may look like I’m in pain but there really wasn’t much pain at all during the recovery process* **For those who live in America or use Google as their main search engine you will not find a lot of things about the recovery for this surgery as it is not common in America. I have basic Korean skills so i was able to search up other Koreans experiences on Naver and what I experienced (chemosis) was completely normal maybe even less severe than others** Day 0 - eyes feel dry - Corner of eyes feel slight burn but not super painful - Does feel like something is pulling on the sides of my eye - Eyelids partially swollen feels like I’m falling asleep - Eyelids no longer swelling after a few hours but now have chemosis (swollen eyeballs due to fluid build up in the conjuctiva ) Day 1 - the chemosis stayed got smaller on my right side but bigger on my left side - Looked like a yellow blister on my left side only at the bottom outer corner of my eye - Can still close my eyes but feels dry and a little gooey - Uncomfortable but no pain - I went to my friends house this day and wore sunglasses out Day 2 - everything is the same - Was able to sleep full 8 hours - Swelling in conjunctiva went down very very slightly but overall same as before Day3 -the chemosis in my eye was at is worse (you can see in the pictures) -no pain just uncomfortable because eyes felt dry Day 4 -first day back to work since my surgery -worked with sunglasses on the whole day -eyes just felt very dry the whole time -chemosis went down from day 3 but still very much there in the left eye especially Day 5 - everything the same as day 4 Day 6 -second day back at work -wore sunglasses again the whole time -when i looked at my eyes in the morning it was pretty much the same but when i got home from work my chemosis in the right eye was pretty much gone and my left eye shrunk by a lot i was surprised by how much -eyes no longer felt dry when i got home Day 7 -chemosis basically gone in right and slightly there in left -stitches out (this was painful) -my eye felt SOOOOOOO much better once the stitches were out and my chemosis went down by a lot I’m typing this as I’m on Day 8. My eyes are still slightly red at the bottom but i no longer really feel dryness in my eyes. The nurse who took out my stitches said since the stitches are out my chemosis will go down by a lot but if i would like i could see the doctor. I declined because i knew it would go down due to my intense research on Naver. Overall, my recovery process was more uncomfortable rather than painful. It was slightly stressful because of the chemosis. I didn’t research on Naver until about day 5 of recovery so before that I wasn’t sure when the chemosis would go away because Google would tell me few days to months. From my experience, it took about 1 week. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about doing this surgery or is going through their recovery process now~
