Rhinoplasty and Alar Reductio
I had my rhinoplasty and alar reduction with Dr. Lee Joo Hong. Before the surgery, I sent my photos through my agent and explained that I wanted a natural-looking result. When I arrived in Seoul and visited the clinic, the process went smoothly. The staff were helpful, and having an English translator made communication much easier during consultations and on surgery day.
During the consultation, Dr. Lee explained what was possible and what wasn’t, keeping the result realistic and natural. My procedure included alar reduction, rib cartilage for the nasal tip from a donor, and a thin silicone implant to slightly raise the bridge.
Once I was taken to the operating room, I fell asleep under anesthesia and woke up in the recovery room. The first night was the most uncomfortable for me. After the painkillers wore off, I felt quite strong pain, like someone punching my nose, and some soreness around the stitched area, but it was manageable. By the next day, the pain had mostly gone, and I was able to sleep well.
Swelling was most noticeable between the third and fifth day and then gradually reduced. The clinic provided daily red light laser treatments to help with swelling. I had my stitches removed on the eighth day, and by then the swelling was already going down.
About a month after surgery, I still sometimes feel tightness at the base of my nose, but I can feel that the tip is becoming firmer over time. Overall, the experience matched what was explained to me beforehand, and I’m satisfied with how things are progressing so far.
