Hey there, fellow Talkers!
"Life is too short to take things too seriously, so let's have some fun!" - Randolph Bourne, The Radical Will: Selected Writings 1911-1918
I just wanted to give you all an update on my hilarious adventure at the VG (Very Good) Clinic for my pre-op!
Check out the "before" photos and the amazing facilities above. I arrived at VG around 12:35 pm, ready for some craziness.
CT scan and Photo Shoot:
The process was smoother than a buttered slide. I filled out the forms, and they whisked me away to the CT-scan room. Then came the photo shoot, with angles that made me feel like a supermodel—front, 90 degrees, 45 degrees, you name it!
Consulting the Lovely Consultant:
I had a chat with a lovely consultant about the procedures I wanted. I requested a nose that would make immigration not recognize me, like Olivia Culpo's fabulous nose. We settled on revision rhinoplasty and fat grafting on my smile lines (think paranasal augmentation). The jowls and double chin were selected as the donor areas (liposuction). Oh, and guess what? Rib cartilage will be used for my tip! I jokingly asked if they could put the scar near my breast augmentation incision. We'll discuss it with the doctor tomorrow. Surprise twist: I'll be under general anesthesia. Apparently, conscious sedation and rib grafting don't go well together. Who knew?
Talking to Dr. Park Sang-wook:
Dr. Park, the brave surgeon, informed me that my implants are already high (5.5mm, although he didn't mention it). We'll try to make them even higher, but no guarantees. I explained that my nose is as flat as a pancake, with zero bones to work with. Then came the jowls and double chin liposuction, followed by using that fat for my smile lines. I asked about a fat transfer for my chin, but Dr. Park assured me I don't need it. Great news, I thought, and bid him farewell until tomorrow.
Another Chat with the Consultant:
I inquired about the warranty period (one year for any dissatisfaction) and post-op care. Due to the fat graft, no deswelling treatment for me. However, they did offer me a vitamin IV, which sounded intriguing. We also discussed the incision sites and settled on a fair price.
Smooth Sailing with Payment:
No hiccups here. I kept waiting for a text from my card, but it seems all was well.
Pre-op Testing Fun:
Okay, let me share this hilarious moment with the consultant's assistant. We had to head to another building for the blood work, chest X-ray, and ECG. It was pouring rain like a monsoon! I joked with her on the way, saying, "I can only go up; we're in trouble if there's no flat ground for the exit!" She assured me there was another entrance, but I couldn't help but worry about us falling together. The X-ray staff were a riot too. At first, I asked if I could go pants-less because I needed a chair. You should have seen the look on her face! Eventually, she found a chair, and I managed to put on my pants. Hilarity ensued, and I just hope my ECG turns out fine because I was doing my best not to burst into laughter.
Mission X-ray and ECG Accomplished:
I made it back to VG, and the assistant went to the other entrance. We both survived, despite the heavy rain. I'm in a fantastic mood, so a little rain
