Quote of the day: “Crying is for plain women. Pretty women go shopping. - Oscar Wilde”
Note: I'm excited for my return to VG on Wednesday, July 12, for stitch removal and the grand reveal of my new nose! ❤️ so I’ll stop spamming you with updates 😜
Morning:
6:00 am - I woke up sprawled flat on the bed, but quickly adjusted myself to the sitting position. My congestion eased a bit, but a pesky cough decided to join the party. I diligently did my post-eye surgery eye drops, wiped my face with wet wipes, and headed to the bathroom for a refreshing clean-up. Time flew by, and before I knew it, it was already 8 am. Breakfast consisted of a microwaved onigiri, some vitamin water, and a refreshing iced coffee. Morning medicine? Check. Teeth brushed? Check. Face cleaned and ointment applied? Check. Outfit on? Check. And off I went to VG!
10 am - I arrived at VG, ready to request copies of all my procedure-related documents. They had me sign a form and make a payment. The clinic was bustling with activity, but hey, more people means more excitement, right? When my turn finally came, the nurse cleaned my incision, the doctor checked my nose, and I asked about the persistent cough. The doctor assured me it was normal. Lastly, they checked my rib graft wound and mentioned I could message Tanya if I needed to come back for vitamin treatment. All done! Time to head out of VG and wrap up the morning.
Noon/Afternoon: Trying out Muse Clinic:
While walking, a brilliant idea struck me—I decided to try out Muse Clinic for a vitamin C/glutathione injection. The process was as straightforward as ordering fast food! I made an appointment for 12:30 pm, received a confirmation email and consent form, and signed the electronic form. Upon arriving at Muse, I immediately sensed a fast-food vibe. Efficient, indeed! I checked in on the iPad at the reception, and soon enough, they called my name. To my surprise, they accepted Apple Pay—how delightful! They asked if it was my first time and if I needed a consultation, to which I replied with a confident "no." I proceeded to pay, received a receipt, and was instructed to go to the 5th floor. At the reception on the 5th floor, I inquired about the tax refund (apparently, any purchase over 30,000 won is eligible), and the kind staff promptly processed my tax refund. Then, the aesthetician called me into the treatment room, and in a flash, the doctor arrived to ask about my medications and allergies. After that, the aesthetician swiftly administered the injection. Ta-da! Just like that, I was out of Muse Clinic.
DAISO - Buying Some Necessities:
After my express trip to Muse Clinic, I swung by Daiso to pick up some necessities. Here's what I got:
1. Waterproof bandages for my rib incision
2. First aid kit
3. Nasal strips (because I plan to continue taping my nose after the cast comes off)
4. Another sunscreen—this time, a smoothing sunscreen essence
5. Face wipes
6. Hyaluronic acid ampoule
Since I've become a frequent visitor to Daiso, I breezed through the self-checkout process and smoothly paid with Apple Pay.
Lunch:
Believe it or not, I was on a quest to find a store selling garbage bags! But hunger struck first, so I ordered an iced caramel macchiato and garlic steak risotto. I swear, I devoured that meal in record time! After paying the bill, I resumed my hunt for garbage bags, eventually resorting to a nearby convenience store where I bought five plastic bags. With that mission accomplished, I headed back to my hotel room, only to realize I had unintentionally set the "do not disturb" sign, so the room hadn't been cleaned. I kindly requested the cleaning lady to spruce it up and promised to return in 30 minutes. And now, here I am, lounging in the lobby, feeling a bit worn out.
Back to the Hotel Room:
I'm exhausted, but the work isn't over yet. Here's what I've accomplished:
1. Cleaned the area around my rib incision and covered it with a waterproof bandage. Finally, I was able to enjoy a refreshing neck-to-toe shower and slipped into some comfy pajamas.
2. Took my prescribed medicine and applied eye drops for my post-lasik care.
3. Used facial wet wipes to cleanse my face, paid attention to my nose and ears, applied ointment, followed my skincare routine, and finished off with some arnica cream to combat bruising and swelling.
