Today marks the 8th day since my surgery, and I'm back at work. I always wanted to do double eyelid surgery, but knowing that with my small and monolid eyes, I would have so much that needed to be done, I pondered for so long, but I decided to go ahead with it.
So last year, I went on to do a search on double eyelid surgery and came across “All About Mei“ . I was amazed, as there are so many promotions ongoing and I chanced upon WOOA promotional price hence decided to give it a try.
Fast forward to February, I had my first consultation with Dr. Lee on February 6th through WOOA consultant translation. The moment Dr Lee saw my eyes, he knew exactly what I wanted. Dr Lee uses his special tools to show me the design and asked me is this okay? I go ahead with what he suggested, as this is exactly what I wanted all along.
On my surgery day, 7th Feb morning, I was so nervous, I didn't know what to expect. All I was thinking about was how painful the injection of anesthesia into my eyelid would be. But it is definitely not what I was expecting. I was sedated and throughout the whole surgery I didn't feel any pain at all. Even after the surgery, there wasn't much pain either, but maybe I have a higher pain threshold, but be sure not to touch it unnecessarily. Before proceeding to the operating room, WOOA friendly consultant's will give me plenty of information on what should be done to reduce the swelling and bruising. it will definitely be more noticeable on day 2, but I still went out while wearing a cap and sunglasses.
Attached are the pictures of my daily recovery from day 0 to day 7, anyone who is considering this surgery can be aware of what to expect.
Fast forward to day 7 removing the stitches, the pain is slightly unbearable for the inner and outer corners. Didn’t think that it would be more painful than the surgery. Most likely it was because the inner and outer corners were more sensitive.
The eyelids feel kind of weird after the surgery, feeling of tightness and numbness but of course that is expected since it had gone through so much.
Olivia, the consultant from 'All About Mei', is superb. After the surgery, she texted me and asked how everything was going. She advised me on which foods to avoid to reduce swelling and aid in recovery.
I will be back in 1 month for more updates.
