Zygoma reduction at ruby
Hi everyone, I recently went to ruby plastic surgery for a consultation.
I originally went for the zygoma reduction promo (3,300,000 krw), the lip filler promo (90,000 krw). All VAT excluded that adds 10% on the amount.
A couple days prior to the consultation, I decided to also ask about armpit liposuction aka the little amount of fat that never seems to disappear 🫠.
I needed to send a 1000$ USD prior to the surgery since it is a facial contouring procedure.
I needed to do X-rays and a blood test on the day after my arrival and my surgery was scheduled 2 days after.
Consultation day:
For the consultation day, I went to a medical clinic right in front of Ruby hospital to do chest X-rays and another test ( I don’t remember the name) to ensure that I was in good health for the procedure.
I was greeted by Jenny, who works as a consultant and translator, she was so sweet and very kind. She helped me for every step of the consultation.
After the X-rays, we went to the clinic to do blood test and also the consultation. The clinic seemed really busy and popular.
I did a consultation for zygoma reduction (promo), lip filler (promo) and armpit liposuction.
I was surprised, I think it might be misunderstanding, but for the zygoma reduction promo, there is an additional fee of 300,000 krw for a health check up and 500,000 krw for general anesthesia, so 800,000 krw more. So be aware of this if you apply for the surgery as it is not written anywhere.
The consultant was kind enough to only charge me for the general anesthesia fee, since I was at the time, quite confused about the extra fee.
I decided not to do the lip filler and the armpit liposuction since it was out of my budget considering the fee. I think the regular price for armpit liposuction is around 2,000,000 krw. It exceeded my budget a bit, since I tought it will be less considering the ongoing promo for full arm liposuction at around 900,000 krw. They also asked me if I was quoted a price, so I guess it depends and is not the same price depending on where you book/get the quoted price.
I went for only the cheekbone reduction. I was informed of all the risks of the procedure, signed the forms and then went back to my hotel about 2 hours after.
Surgery day:
I went to ruby in the morning to pay the remaining amount and prepare to do the surgery. I was extremely anxious and stressed. Jenny and the nurse that was with me for the whole process were so kind and reassuring. They are really the best and they are so cute !
At think I went to the surgery room around 1:30 hour after coming to the hospital.
I woke up around 1:30 PM and was discharged at 2:30 PM since my condition was good. There was almost no swelling right after the surgery and I felt no pain and no dizziness. Jenny went with me to buy medication that was around 25$.
After coming to the hotel, the anesthesia started to wear off and I felt okay, but my throat was really hurting because of the general anesthesia.
After a couple of hour, my nose and my throat were really burning when I breathed. It was painful drinking even a small amount of water. I ate an egg that I crushed up and also I tried to eat a little bit of porridge.
My first night was really horrible. It’s normal, but I did not think it will be that bad and started regretting my decision. My nose was blocked, so I needed to breathe trough my mouth and my throat was burning and painful. There was a lot of mucus that felt into my throat as well, so I kinda felt like I was drowning at some time. You have to wear a thick bandage and my ears were folded on themselves, so even the slightest touch was so painful on my ears.
1 day after surgery I looked in the mirror and my face was really swollen, which is 100% normal. My surgeon seems to have handle my surgery beautifully since I did not see a lot of bruising.
I knew that this was a big surgery, but seeing your face in the mirror is quite difficult, I almost felt like crying to be honest. I walked a little bit on my room, since I’m too anxious right now to go out. Even just going to the hospital will be a challenge.
I have an appointment today to change the bandage and I hope I will feel a little bit better after. I also hope that it will be removable for me to take a shower since I could not wash myself yesterday.
I will keep you guys updated.
