I first met with Esther and Marie after checking into the surgery, they were very warm and comforting. Even though I don't understand Korean well, Esther was so kind and never made me feel bad about it. Marie accompanied me wherever I went and translated everything, she was a star. They spoke to me about what I wanted and then I met with Dr. Lee who used an ultrasound scanner to check what tissues lay beneath the skin on my neck. He told me that a lot of my double chin comes from fat that is stored beneath my muscle and that I have some spare skin and would require an incision to remove it all. I agreed, I had a very bulky double chin with around 10cm of subcutaneous and submuscular fat deposits. He then drafted what I needed and submitted it back to Esther, who gave me the price. The total came to 6,630,000 won, which was more than I expected however very reasonable since I needed a lot more doing that I thought. Also that included the VAT that was claimed back when I left Korea. I agreed and paid the amount, then I was taken down to get ready for surgery. It was very relaxing, I was given plenty of time to get ready before the surgery, use the restroom and sort anything I needed out. I was very scared at this point but everyone comforted me. When I went for the surgery, Dr. Lee did some final drawing on me and asked if I had any questions or concerns, there was nothing that stood out to me so we proceeded. In the operation room, I laid on the bed and they set the IV general anaesthetic up. Usually in England it's a very fast anaesthetic and everything goes black, but here it was a very gentle and comfortable one, it wasn't scary at all. I woke up and the surgery was complete, I was already wearing the black headband. I was brought into the recovery room, I rested and reoriented myself. Afterwards, I met with Esther and Marie again and they booked me in for a laser post operative treatment that helps with swelling and pain. I went home, the pain was very manageable with the medicine, the headband was a little difficult to get used to but after some small adjustments I became more accustomed. The next day when I returned for the laser, Marie greeted me and Esther came to check on me too, they took me to a room where a nurse checked all the stitches. Dr. Lee also came in afterwards and gave me information about the stitches and when to remove them. He also checked the result and whether I was happy - I told him I was VERY happy! I loved this experience. It was certainly five star, I love the recommendations made by Dr. Lee because if I had anything else, the results would not be the same and I would have to go and get another surgery to further correct my anatomy. I am so grateful to the Shinsang clinic, my sisters and mum want to come to Korea to go there now! Also please excuse the bruises, this after photo is four days post surgery. Its not painful, just looks sore. I would do this all again if I had to!!! Thank you so much the Shinsang team!
