Im back again with a more detailed post on my jaw liposuction.
I had one consultation 2nd consultation with a chinese speaking case manager Luna. I didn't ask to see the doctor as i had seen him during my 1st consultation and i already ask him the questions that i needed to.To be honest, i didn't ask Luna much question about the liposuction cause i was quite confident that the liposuction would be something that i expected. But i did ask about the anaesthetic used and it was the general anaesthetic. I prefer general anaesthetic as i would be asleep and i think if i was awake. I would be super nervous and scared to see whats happening. To think about it all, it was really quite a rash decision to do the lipo whitjout asking more question . However I did ask Luna about the liposuction and what machine or method that they will be using and that's about it. And after which i text Olivia from All About Mei because i wanted to know more information about the liposuction. I honestly felt that i could have asked more question during the consultation with Luna but luckily Olivia was there to help me to ask the hospital more about the liposuction .The liposuction was done using a thin canula and using laser machine to tighten the muscle. Luna also reminded me to remove all my gel polish as well as to fast for 8 hours.Olivia was also a great help, she reminded me to fast for 8 hours and all. All questions were answered quickly by Olivia.She's really a great help.
Before the surgery day itself, i had fast for 8 hours and remove all my gel polish and all accessories.i reach the clinic about 9.30. Make payment at Wooa and a few minutes later.Luna was there to bring me to the consultation room to wait for the doctor. Honestly i didn't ask much about my lipo.but i do know that i was suppose to have fat melting injections and chin fillers as well as nasolabial filler. Do note that the package didn't come with nasolabial filler and it would be an addition to the package itself. Within like 10 minutes the doctor came, and started drawing on my face with a marker. At this point, still no questions from me.lol. i didn't know why i didn't ask any questions though. The doctor was nice and Luna help me to tell the doctor about the medications that i.was allergic too.This is very important because i have been to other clinics before and they didn't care what medications that i.was allergic too and said oh i don't need to take any medications after the surgery. But to be honest, i understood that antibiotics and inflammation medications were important after lipo. so....oh well. So i guess i was lucky that didn't do my surgery at other clinics but chose to do it with Wooa. I trusted Dr Park with the drawings on my face and assume that he knows what i want or rather i should say i trusted him to do everything . ha ha ha. But honestly, i kind of regret not telling him i wanted a more sharper chin and all. Please ask all questions and i think its best to let the consultant and doctor know what you want and be as specific as you can. My only regret is that i didn't ask more questions.
Right after the consultation with the doctor, i change into the hospital gown and Wooa took photos of my face. I proceed to go into the waiting area which is a room with nice comfort seats. All these while, i had my friend with me from the consultation room to the waiting room. Which i think its super important as my friend can give me which ever support i need. Never once at Wooa that i felt that i was rushed into anything. About 5 minutes later Grace the English consultant came and pick me up and went into the surgery room.
I was lying there with an English translator as English was my first language and i would be most comfortable to be with a English translator. Grace was very professional and which ever step that the nurses did at the surgery room.Grace explained each step clearly and never was i once felt lost. This is something that i like from Woo a. The translator followed you all the way so there would not be any miscommunication. The nurse put a drip on me and she was not rough and was gentle. After which i laid for about 5-10 minutes i think . i was really nervous at this time and soon o saw Dr Park. He said hi and ask if i was nervous and i said yes. He smiled and said don't worry im not and gave me assurance by holding my hand and telling me not to be nervous. Soon, the anaesthetic kicked in and i drifted off to sleep. There were be 3 incisions on you. 1 below your chin and 2 behind each of the ear. You will be having a face/head band and be expected to wear it for the next few days. I didn't take it out only when i bath after the 2nd day.
When i awake after an hour, i was pretty on a confused stage and was still giddy from the general anaesthetic. I was wheeled into the waiting area which my friend was waiting for me with the medications and 2 eye mask(which act as a ice pack to reduce inflammation and brushing). I was so glad to see my friend waiting for me inside the waiting room cause after the lipo. Trust me, u be a little emotional. You need all the support from a friend. But of course, not everyone would feel the same way. The doctor was outside the waiting room to make sure everything was okay. I saw him on my way to the restroom. Oh something that i appreciate about Wooa is that there is a button at each of the Sofa (waiting room). You can press it anytime you needed help and the consultants will be there within minutes. There will be a piece of paper with instrutions what to do/not to do after the surgery. Another plus point from Wooa.After about 40 minutes i press the button and ask if i could go home. Dr Park came.in and ask if i was okay and told me that all is good and that i have done a good job. Assurance from the doctor is imprtant i feel at least to me.Dr Park is indeed the kindest and most caring doctor ever. And i procedded to go home. Another plus point to have someone with you is that you could go home immediately without having to collect the medication cause my friend would have done so before i could go home.
Consultantion would be in 2 days time.In total there will be 3 more consultation with the doctor.
First day,
My face was swelling. The area around my jaw and double chin was really sore and felt lumpy and raw. But there was no pain felt just soreness. I couldn't open my mouth much. The two incisions behind my ears were swollen as well as my cheeks. But the head band/ face band helps with the swelling. There will be bruises and swelling in your neck and chin area which is quite obvious.i had to take the medications 3 times a day. 1 for antibiotics, 1 for swelling , 1 to protect your stomach and 1 vitamin.
2nd day
Face was still swelling but no pain at the area near the incision side behind your ears nor the chin area. Face still feels lumpy and raw.Still cant open my mouth much and i could only take porridge still. I tried to be on a liquid diet so that i wont have to chew much.
3rd day
Went back to Wooa to allow Dr Park to check on the incision areas. The swelling on the incision side has gone down a little. But the swelling at the neck is still bad so i was asking the consultant and Dr Park if it was normal and he said yes. He assured me again and said everything is good;).The nurses clean up my wound a little and that was it. Fast and sweet.
4th day till today.
Swelling on the neck has gone down a lot a lot and its not swollen anymore.No pain at the incision areas but chin and jaw area feels quite lumpy but not as raw as the first day for sure. The swelling on my jaw area has gone down as well but still swollen.
Today was the day i went back to Wooa. As usual , i never had to wait more than 10 minutes, the chinese consultant led me to the treatment room where i had to remove my stitches. After removing the stiches , Dr Park came and checked on my chin and jaw area and i told him i wanted the chin to be sharper. But both the consultant and Dr Park told.me.that you need to maintain it by diet and exercising too. Dr Park also mention that my face was still.swollen and i had to wait for a month to need to wait for a month before i can see the full effects. Dr Park check on the incision areas and ask if it was painful and all. As usual Dr Park was gentle and caring. Then i proceeded home. Yappy.
