Adventure in SK of disabled Girl Surgery
Today is the big day of my surgery, and believe it or not, I'm brimming with energy despite just coming out of general anesthesia.
I woke up at 7 am, thinking I had plenty of time since my appointment at VG was at 9 am. But oh boy, I underestimated the power of rush hour in South Korea. So I texted VG to let them know I'd be a little late and ordered a Kakao-T black since I knew they'd be available. Luckily, there was one ready. Within about 5 minutes, we arrived at VG.
Note: The surgery I had was revision rhinoplasty using rib cartilage, fat graft, and face liposuction. But let's get back to the tale of my epic surgery adventure:
The Wardrobe Change:
Walking without the splint was a no-go, so they decided to remove it in the operating room. After changing into my surgical clothes, I had to make a detour to the toilet.
Signing Forms:
The consultant bombarded me with forms to sign, turning it into an endless marathon. It felt like a good 30 minutes just to get through all the paperwork!
Final Design:
Dr. Park stepped into the scene to work his magic on my face. Playfully, I told him, "Doctor, my face is in your hands. I trust you completely!" (with a nervous chuckle, of course)
The Surgery Room:
I bid farewell to my splint and lay down in the operating room. They inserted the IV near my thumb, and let me tell you, that spot hurt like crazy (a completely new experience for me). But it was necessary so I could still use my hand. Then came the announcement that anesthesia would flow through my veins—cue the stinging pain. I couldn't help but let out a series of "Oh! Oh! Oh!" (Yes, the pain was talking). They placed an oxygen mask on me, and within a minute or two, my memory faded to black. And just like that, my face was all bandaged up, turning me into a mysterious superhero.
The Recovery Room:
I had booked an overnight stay in the room. They turned on the heater and placed an ice pack on my forehead. Feeling a bit mischievous, I messaged VG, begging someone to come and turn off the heater. I even snatched the ice pack from my forehead. Ah, the joys of post-surgery adventures! The recovery room was blissfully quiet, just the way I like it.
If any other thrilling events unfold tonight, I promise to keep you all updated. Stay tuned for more!
