Eyelid Fat Transer
These are my eye before surgery.
I wrote this to give those with eyes like mine some insight.
I'm currently very happy with the improvement after surgery.
How I ended up getting surgery:
I had large and open eyes overall even before surgery, and perhaps I had sunken eyes from lack of fat, but I had 2 eyelid creases. So people have always told me that I looked tired, old, drab, and hearing all this negative talk really stressed me out and gave me a complex. I don't know much about plastic surgery but I figured I needed double eyelid surgery or ptosis correction.
As I was looking around at a few places, a friend of mine, who was visiting Korea during vacation while studying in the U.S., had gotten double eyelid surgery. She was extremely satisfied as she likely really did her research beforehand, being so meticulous in nature, and hearing my concerns, she recommended it to me as well.
So I tagged along with my friend to a plastic surgery clinic for a consultation and booked surgery. I ended up getting an eyelid fat transfer, rather than double eyelid surgery or ptosis correction.
Consultation:
I think I went to my consultation with high hopes because my friend was so happy with the results and I can see for myself how well it turned out so. I asked my friend for the name of the clinic and I immediately searched extensively on cafes or blog reviews and whatnot. Not only were there just positive things about the place but just the fact that there hadn't been any accidents for 19 years running was astounding to me and raised my hopes even more. Accidents are not something that can be predicted so I found it impressive thinking how well they must've handled every situation to earn such a title... The hospital I chose was Faceline Plastic Surgery Clinic in Apgujung, Seoul.
My friend got me an appointment for a consult and I went to the clinic on time. When I got there, I went to straight in to see the same consultant as my friend without having to wait. Price-wise, I knew going in that it wouldn't be cheap for such reputation and expertise, as my friend had already informed me. My consultant was very friendly and told me that she would take good care of me for being a referral. She told me that having a fat transfer to the eyelid area, instead of double eyelid surgery, would resolve what I was concerned about.
After speaking to the consultant, I went in to consult with the surgeon. He felt familiar, I think because I saw him in video clips on the clinic's Youtube channel and I browsed their homepage a lot... Or he just made me feel comfortable... He was also quite good looking. I explained that I wanted the shape of my eyes to stay they way they are and just resolve the extra crease on my eyelid and he got that straight away. Just as the consultant recommended, the surgeon also recommended an eyelid fat transfer.
I have a hard time turning people down in nature and heard that a lot of plastic surgery clinics keep recommending this and that but I liked that I was only recommended just what I needed, which also made them seem more credible. I booked the surgery as soon as I came out and paid the deposit.
